The Berkshire Grown Holiday Farmers’ Markets will take place at the Searles School Gymnasium on Bridge Street in Great Barrington Saturday, November 20 (9 am – 1pm).
This is a community marketplace to extend the selling season for farmers as well as invite community members to join in celebration of the wide array of regional farms/food producers available.
Many components for the Thanksgiving holiday meal will be offered. Based on feedback received last year, Berkshire Grown will feature several farmers who raise livestock for meat production. Many vendors will be offering items only available at this time of year or that have been created for these markets specifically. All vendors will feature locally grown and locally produced products.
Great Barrington’s market will feature turkeys, pork, beef, chickens, lamb, lamb skins, wool, eggs, mushrooms, arugula, root vegetables, apples, cheese, soups, quiches, breads, cakes, biscotti, cookies, pies, pickles, maple syrup, honey, beeswax candles, flowers, locally grown baby food, and preserved and canned goods. Entertainment for the whole family includes live music at both venues and lunch items will be available for purchase. The events are free and open to the public.
